No chassis stamp found

Hi Guys,

After a long ten years of owning my vh sle i have decided to get this licenced but i have come across a issue, I just cant find my chassis number stamp, i know everyone saying passenger side strut tower but its not there.

Has anyone experienced something like this and what can i do about it, can i get it licensed all my tag match the description of the car just no stamp

Has it had a engine bay respray at some stage? Happened to me when I had mine engineered, they couldn't find the number as the new paint had filled up the stamps

are sure the car is a vh .. check front driver apron as that's were vb - VC are vin
stamped as maybe a vc in vh trim.

Would an X-ray of the strut tower reveal the chassis number under any paint?

Same happened to me, I freaked out a little but rubbed it back with thinners and it came through.

First batches of vh model had them on front apron...towards the end of series started getting them on strut tower not sure if that began sometime in 82 or just 83 models as never found any decent info about it.

could have been a carry-over year and holden using up last of vc chassis on production lines as vh run began? maybe? the only difference is front guard's grill and lights as apron still the same.

Doubt they'd have any carryover by second year of vh production.

Take grille off take good look in holes to left of bonnet latch spring if numbers in there or front apron replaced like most that got bingled.

Does it still have thin log tag top of radiator support?

Being 83 model I'd expect it to be on strut tower
