flat battery. I thinks might as well change the fuel filter while I charge it. Filter changed so I replaced "charged" battery. Volt check - 13+. Connected negative terminal first. When connect positive, wow, fireworks night. check voltage. 2 volts? On the vt there is 3 leads to the negative terminal.the one that is by itself had 13+v, the other 2 together had 2v. What is sucking up the voltage? no power at the ign sw, or any where else. Eng 60 amp fuse looked sus, changed that. still problem???

when you say flat battery, a little bit flat or completely dead flat
are you 100% you connected battery around the right way when you refitted
when you remove battery neg first in case you slip with spanner
when you refit pos first

battery turned motor over but not enough to start. I connected the negative first with no slipping of the spanner on the positive side. The "fireworks" were on initial placement of the positive lead, one lead only.

Huh ? How are you measuring the 2V
on the neg lead ?
I assume meter + probe to battery +
lead and meter - probe to each of the
3 leads on the bat - post in turn.
To me I would think that you need to
remove both of those 2V leads and thoroughly clean them.

Also there shouldn’t be “fireworks”
only a few small sparks.
That is unless you have a dead short
somewhere that is drawing a huge amount of current !
