    Agree with reverse sender micro-switch.

If the bulbs are OK, then the problem usually relates to the reverse micro-switch at the gearbox.

This is not common, but they do go sometimes.

That wont fix it, and its the engine fuse that you need to remove.

This is how power gets to the reverse lights. You just have to check each out until you find the problem.

Power from battery to fuse number 12
From fuse 12 to reverse lamp switch in the gear selector console
From the reverse lamp switch to each reverse bulb
From the bulb to a ground that just about all your rear lights use

So if your other lights are working, it shouldnt be the ground side. Just make sure you did check the right fuse, and I mentioned above, otherwise I would very carefully checking that switch. Either not sitting right or not working (you can test if its working using a multimeter). And just to double check, have the bulbs ever worked? Just to make sure you havent purchased the wrong type. Otherwise its probably a wiring fault, and you will need to use a multimeter to find where power is getting to and where its not.
