    Howdy. Kenwood MP3 CD unit (KDC-MP4029) - I recently hooked up new amp/speakers to the front, and the radio sounds great. However...

    I just went to play CD and all looks good - the deck reads and plays the disc - displays ID3 tag and moves on to the next song - but no sound whatsoever.

    Back to FM - all good.

    B4 I go ripping the unit out, any ideas ?

    Cheers:thumbsup:

    Volume knob?

    Honestly couldn't tell you, maybe call the shop where you got it from or swing past and let them have a quick look. Does it play normal non mp3 cds?

    And I remember some old mp3 players didn't like playing rw discs or cd's that hadn't had their sessions closed. However if it's reading the tags I guess it's a pretty good sign everything should be working.

    Try a normal cd, if that doesn't work either call Kenwood or the place you got it from.

    lmfao - but yeh - I thought of that, Same disc that was working yesterday not working today. Tried some factory discs and other mp3 discs that have previously played fine, just no sound (not even a hint at full volume).

    The unit is out of warranty, but still may have to resort to trying kenwood.

    PROBLEM SOLVED - I had hooked up the amp remote to the power aerial wire (blue wire) instead of the remote wire (blue with white stripe) As the aerial goes down switching to cd - so the amps turn off lol.

    cheers :L()
