Hi guys and girls,

I have a VX Calais V6 that has decided to not blow heat through the heater. Today I changed the heater tap however there is definitely no vacuum coming through the hose and it is still blowing cold air (which will be lovely in summertime, just not great for cold winters).

Any advice / pictures on what to look at next?

Thanks in advance.

Check this hose at the back of the intake manifold.

Yep. And I plugged the pipes back in correctly too.

I only asked because my replacement was opposite to my original one....

also as above have you connected the little vacuum hose as well?

No problem mpower, it was identical and just copied it over. I'll check the tube from the manifold tomorrow, Nut Kracker. I know there's also a lever / trigger under the dash somewhere (passenger or driver, not sure) which might be stuck too. Thanks guys.

The heat selector is connected to a lever to operate the vacuum.
It may have come detached or is out of adjustment.

I'll have a look for a picture in the FSM and will post it (if I can find it).

There is a difference.
Each time you press a button on the ECC,
a vacuum solenoid valve is is instructed to open or close.

There is one (black) hose that comes from the intake manifold, through the firewall and via a vacuum tank under the dash
to the selector panel.
This vacuum is then distributed via the switches to the various selections eg. face foot windscreen etc.
This vacuum also operates the selection for hot/cold operation.

If a the air distribution is working properly, then may be the hose from the selector panel that goes to your heater tap
is faulty.
According to my diagram, the hose colour from the solenoid pack is yellow.

Stand by for a picture.......
