Hey guys,

Started the car this morning and heard something new. I'm getting a consistent rubbing noise(few times a second) that sounds like it is coming from the mid to bottom front. Its sounds like its belt related. As I'm not going to get a chance to diagnose over the next few days, can anyone offer some opinions?

Water pump is 70k, would a harmonic balancer or maybe aircon pulley make that sort of noise?

Thanks
Clacks

Could be something caught in one of the pulleys and rubbing on the side, or the belt is getting a bit old and dry, or one of the many bearings running off that belt starting to fail (hope not), or the brushes in the alternator a bit noisey.
I hear a sqeakey repeating noise from the serpentine belt usually when starting cold and more pronounced during dry weather. Hope its nothing major and goes away by itself. Good Luck.
