hey folks, got a standard VS with solid axle single spinner, and ive notice theres a high pitch squeaking noise coming from the diver side rear wheel and it squeaks in intervals and if i go faster, the interval of squeaks get qwiker aswell, Although when i would put my foot on the brake the squeaking stops. what could the problem be? and what is needed to resolve it?
would brake machining fis the warped disc? or am i better off getting a brand new one? and how would i go with the sticking calipers?
A machining will fix it, if its only a small amount of warp, but thats if u dont have a lip on the end of ya rotors, if they are a bit worn, would be best just to get new onse. I had about 2mm of lip on my rotors, the mech wouldnt machine them as they wouldnt leave me a thick enough base, thus warping it again. Could also be that ur bearing are a bit dry, squeeling a lil, when u do the rotors, pack the bearings again with sum high temp bearing grease aswell while ur there
i remember reading some where about the minium thickness of the discs. whats the minium thickness for my rears?
On VP is 9.5mm minimum thickness, Thats for a 279mm diameter rotor, i think VR/VS have the same rotor size, just different hubs.
i measured my discs with a caliper and they're approximatley 10.2mm will that be enough to have them machined??
