Might be a silly question but I have to ask, are you checking the level with the engine running while in park?

You need to check it while the engine is running and normally cycle through the gears a couple of times. The level will drop on the stick with it running.

the cold option is checking it before it gets driven but still with the engine running.

ok,as you see on the pic previously, after going for a drive the reading when hot is right before the D on deep.So it dropped a bit but still over if its meant to be in the crossed lines area.

If your doing it make sure to follow the correct procedure, don't be like a wholly who never lined up his keyway and broke it off and cracking his timing gear by torqueing up the bolt not lined up, u should be able to located the key way by pushing it on by hand, a little grease on the oil seal too. Good luck.

transmission level must be checked with the engine running and warm (20K drive). Should then be at the hot level.
