Noisey air con pump

hi guys I have a 2007 ssv commo with 137k on the clock just lately the air con pump is getting rather noisey when the aircon is turned on, noise isn’t there when aircon is switched off I have checked all the idler pulleys and they all seem to be in good nick bearings turn nice and freely with no binding.... what u guys reckon it is shagged aircon pump? If so how much to replace?

Its pretty common for the front bearing to go. You can get a replacement for about $20 on ebay. Most likely its the rear bearing in the unit. In that case, its easier to just replace the whole compressor. In NZ a compressor is about $120 and about $200 for a de-gas re-gas.

The noisey bearing doesnt overly affect the working of the compressor, so if you can live with the noise, you can leave it in.
