Hey this is my second post, i've got the 2009 ssv ute my mods so far;

X-Force 3 inch Catback
X-Force 1 7/8 Headers
X-Force Hi-Flow Cats
OTR CAI
Comp Camshaft 232/234
Underdrive pulley
MAFLess Tune

power= 313.7 rwkw @ 204kph dtorque=0.0N.M @80kph Motive Force=5836.9n @170kph and about 640nm rear torque

Im not sure if this is the max potential it can be at with these mods and tune, do you guys know anyone with pretty similar mods and have more power than what i have, what suggestions do you guys think i should do if its not at its potential. i got it mafless tuned at hi torque, maybe going to a different tuner? would it make alot of difference?. is there anyway to make it reach 400rkw, that would be prime, but without it being stroked,heads or supercharged etc. my idles pretty lumpy and she sounds pretty aggressive and loud, i'd like the tone alot deeper than what it is aswell. thanks guys

not bad probably get a little more with a different tune but hi torque is a big name in tuners but is it a concervative tune or hardcore one

With the mods you have, you won't crack 400 at the wheels. You would have to go FI to see that number.

With what you have I think your around the mark that it would produce.

310+ from a car that has 210-220 standard. Not bad

That power is spot on for the mods you have I'm impressed! Why aren't you?
Your car can always make more power but they need to run it leaner than what it is, which in turn can have a severe impact on the engine especially at high revs.

With the car sounding deeper you can always change the middle muffler for 2 hotdogs and use 100cell cats

tell the dyno operator to put the intake temp probe around the headers, then you will get the number you seek ;)

would also be a benifit to you if the workshop used a more up do date profile rather then a 10+ year old profile thats suited to the older ls motors and not optimal for the newer ones.

all in all, a set of diff gears fitted and this car will fly. who cares about the dyno number as you cant compair any 2 dyno graphs as their is way too many variables even using the same dyno. end of the day a dyno is just a tuning tool. just be happy with what you have and just go out and enjoy it

yep that cam is a LS1/Ls2 happy one with the big valves on the L98 heads a larger exhaust duration is the norm(I have had 232/237 224/244 and current 239/247 in VE's. For reference the 224/244 pulled 317kw's on a mainline dyno other wise that's a good figure really. Does it feel strong on the road a drive great? if so be happy :)

@Munz i think the catbacks are straight through x force ones what do you mean by hot dogs lol, and are the cell cats just hi flow cats?
@ian johnston yeah mate my utes a manual =P cant stand autos
@dmacey what is FI man?
@blackve76 yeah man it does feel strong, yu can tell by hearing it that it has power compared to some other v8s that are just hollow and loud but dont have that power note, first time i got it back from the cam being installed there was a large amount of surging/jerking, i then got it retuned a few weeks later they deleted the surge a bit, made it sound a bit more aggressive and lower, its just lacking that low end torque which i want. i have driven a ve ute with a 220/224 cam a while before i got this done with the same specs she had pretty good torque low end in the 1500-2000rpm but after it died off, while with my ute now around the 3/3500-5000 mark thats when u get the kick, the surge can be a pain sometimes, i wish i could get rid of the surge but thats everyone says about cams so ill just learn to deal with it, usually crusing at 2000rpm if i sit on a gear theres no surge, if it goes under u can start feeling the jerk.

Overall i'd like some low end torque up to the 3000 rpm, diffgears sounds like a plan whats the best diff gear ratio to get ppl say 3.7s and reckon 4.11s are to high. but will this affect my idle and lumpyness sound? and does it reduce top speed, by how much? will it take some of the surge away to. thanks guys

i'll behonest the 3.7 gears from 3.45 doesn't seems good but well worth it car still very drivable on the highway etc if anything will probally make fuel economy better(I sold my 3.45 so helps with the cost, people with autos love em). Surging is the tune should be able to get that tuned out, I had a 232/234 in a ls1 and no surge. Take the tuner for a drive and show him the surging.
