Received a phone call from a mate today, to tell me he had been rear ended in holiday traffic.

He had slowed down behind a caravan and was forced to come to a sudden stop, from a speed of about forty k's. Hears loud brake squeal for about two seconds, then "bang!", he gets slotted up the back. Another second and a second brake squeal, and "bang!" again. Thinks, "wtf?" as he gets out to find he has been rear ended by a P Plater in a VR, who in turn has been rear ended by a second P Plater. Damage to his car is serious enough to require a couple of weeks in the beaters. The VR is ratshit - front and rear both totalled. The third car (didn't bother noting what it was) was leaking water and steaming, so it was a tow-away as well.

Police are called and arrive reasonably promptly. Mate gives his version - he's obviously in the clear. However, idiot features in the car behind claims that he was pushed into mate's car by the third bloke! Third bloke doesn't have a clue - just saw car in front too late and slotted it.

Mate was approached by police to confirm second driver's story. He was pretty mad about things and the other driver's bullshit didn't help. Police officer was very interested to hear that mate had suffered two distinct impacts, not just one. Back to second driver, who admitted that he might have hit the car in front first.....

End result? Two cars undriveable, one most likely a write off. Two P Platers (both red) off the road, with nice fines to follow. Ahh, justice.

Just a pity that the justice had to come at the expense of your mate losing his car while it was being repaired.
But fortunately at least he didn't have to pay $$$$ or suffer any serious injuries for it. :)

You could replace 'p plater' with elderly, asian, or woman (or the very scary Elderly Asian woman) any day of the week.:lock::lock:

I happen to agree with this... :lock:

And no, PMing me WILL NOT get the thread reopened so don't waste time asking. We all know these threads end up looking like a dog chasing its tail.
