yeah they are a bit pricey arent they but if you can get them at the right price. sothe pics will be heaps better now? itll be good to have your exhaust on when you finally get it.
Pics should be alot better now, exhaust will be here Thursday or Friday, talking to the guy last night, it wasn't actually sent coz they were waiting for an email from me to say who to attention it to at work, ahh duh, ME maybe?
i have the VE coulsons in my VU ute... http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-vu-wh-v2/136669-v-ate-ss-bryces-01-vu-ss-ute.html theres a few photos of them there to give you an idea of them.. can get the trimmed in any material you like? some places do logos on them to...
Yeah i will be, eventually, got home to after a 13.5 hour day at work and think "sweet, time to fit that zorst" only to discover that there are no nuts to join the tail pipe section to the front half and no gaskets to make the mating a bit more leak proof am i just tripping or should these kinda things be involved in a kit, or are they even required will post pics when i upload them
Okay here are some pics,, the full system and the problem parts the mating surfaces between each pipe section tail pipe and muffler section sorry about the quality but its the first time i have played with the new camera and more than likely have the settings wrong, the studs on the tail pipe section have a thick plastic on them (maybe to protect the threads) that fit snugly through the hole in the muffler section but would obviously melt before long
just a quick pic update old vs new hmmmmm, wtf were holden thinking putting a shitty little pipe like that on a 5.7l v8???
probly thinking the same thing when they did it on my car, it was even smaller lol, i would of thought that those things would be included in a "kit" but maybe they were thinking that you might weld it up haha, the new one looks alot nicer, is it just painted black? or professionally done, the guys that did my exhaust just painted it black haha came off after the first few days, so i might chrome it up maybe. so did you get it in today?
yeh you can see just how much better the new one is in quality compared to the factory exhaust, all the bends and everything look heaps better
Looks a bit like my exhaust which is a bit loud .I bought the rear sports bolt on mufler as well for when it gets to much.Dont get me rong i like the straight through section but flooring it becomes a habit and economy goes backwords .Sounds great at WOT Do ya know if this type of system is legal .....being the straight through rear that is ?
Long time Holden lover first time poster, I bought that same exhaust from Tuffcarparts 2 weeks ago fitted it up and mate it drones alot unless your lead footed. Just cruising through the gears mine drones alot. Ive read around about it that straight through catbacks on the Vt Ls1s mainly had a drone probably and what fixed it is a quality extractor/hi flow cat fitted also. In the two weeks ive had it on the drone has gone abit but got plains for Tri Y Pace's and hi flow cats next week to make her sound right.
I have tri pacemakers and my auto still drones but only at 1800 to 2000 rpm .The rest of the rev range is good .However im still running stock cats.
regarding the blown tail light,,,,,,, will shouldn't like this, it attracts police attention haha to everyone else, yeah it kinda does drone a bit but it is only at 2000rpm steady cruise (which is kinda quick considering it sits on 100 at just over 1500) but the drone doesn't worry me, it's the damn vibrations while sitting at the lights in drive with your foot on the brake, did any one else get this with their new cat back system?
with the otr thats hopefully soon to come, i was thinking i should look more at a fibreglass one, not ally. benefits would be the fibreglass wont heap up as drastically as ally would meaning intake temps are slightly lower after travelling for a distance, and also it would still look farely stock (with plastic surrounds) to the untrained eye, eg; most of the boys in blue what do you guys think?
