not the gauge itself but the Oxygen sensor, as I said if its just a factory one which I'd say it will be, as Wide Band ones are expensive like $130ish plus I don't think you can just throw a wide band sensor in your car is they read different and have different outputs youll get what I have said above, not actually a decent gauge but a xmas tree gauge.

Hook it up all the same just don't expect to be as useful as most other gauges.

standard O2 sensor in your commodore is a narrowband sensor. it's job is to aid fuel economy by keeping your AFR's in the correct operating range when in closed loop mode. it will swing the AFR's backward and forwards through the stoichometric AFR of 14.7:1 as that is basically where the engine produces the least amount of polution and you get a good clean burn. if everything was opearting correctly in your car you would expect to see the needle swings accross the 14.7 position continuesly (when in closed loop mode). when you mash the loud pedal the ecu will go into open loop mode (i.e. it runs off the figures in the fuel map) and will actually run richer as this is where engines make more power, around the 12:1 AFR. some people re-tune there cars to run lean in cruise mode which reduces fuel used but this produces bad exhaust emmisions.

that is the basics. there is a bit more to it but then you need to start reading those tech articles:p

Yes..... but the measurement would be pointless. Why bother?
