Looking to put gauges in my car and came upon some old threads where people had got a tablet with the EL327 bluetooth thing.
Can they read all the oil pressure oil temp coolant temp AFR boost etc? I'm a bit technicaly challenged with electric **** so just would like some input.
Whats the best Bluetooth you have found?

What is best app android or iphone?

And what apps do people use?

Thanks heaps

Most ELM devices are not Bluetooth and many Chinese eBay ones are not Apple compatible - cheap and trashy (made for Androids).

Go Point Technology called the BT-1. It means you can use the Internet for apps and important road warrior stuff while enjoying high speed OBDII comms via Bluetooth. Most other ELM thingies force you to create your own WiFi subnet (intranet vs internet means your data goes offline), which is no good because your phone / tablet expects live connection to 3G / 4G while driving. Wifi is for the garage / pointless to use on the road.

DashCommand for the advanced skinned EDI, the GPS Racetrack and of course graphic real-time On Board Tech / Diagnostics;

And what apps do people use?

While driving to stop me from being bored sheetless travelling 1000k+/wk:
#1 by far... Siri
Apple Maps for integration of contacts and nav
Waze for traffic and alerts, citizen band, FourSquare and other social media integration / discovery on the road and ranking
Escort Live! in conjunction with other hardware for more specific warnings
Trapster when I'm feeling paranoid or bored
WhereIs with those crack up voices for a laugh with friends
HUD.cam for NiteRider stealth effects at night in Ninja vs Pirate mode

Nah mate, you got it first go, simple.
Makes a huge difference to your drive, especially if your ipad has Siri?

The voice activated interface on iPad 3+, iPhone4s+ that means you don't need to take your hands off the steering wheel to do most functions.
Set up in your car she talks to you through the handsfree and reads email, notifications, etc.
Like HAL.

Yes to engine and trans and ambient and intake, cat temp, fuel pressure, MAF and O2 readings, MAP pressure and all up - including calculated PIDs - there are several dozen things to read or calculate scan / log / graph.
But come to mention it that's a negative to oil pressure. I know you can workaround by installing a digital sender (readily available) for that on a VE, I think that PID mustn't be available as part of the (GM CANBUS) OBDII?

Found out DashBoss does read the Oil Pressure for iOS, will look into why DashCommand doesn't appear to support that. Blast!
DashBoss looks richer in features than DashCommand, but it is not as customizable in the looks department.
Shiver me timbers! I need DashBoss now!!

Hey Pirate one more question about the BT 1 can you leave it in the OBD port all the time or does it drain the Car battery?

Just lookd at Dash Boss pitty it wont work with the BT 1
