hey my vs occasionally when say reversing out of a park, going from R to D it kinda shudders, doesnt stall just shudders. what can cause this? error codes are normal, i got a 12mnth warranty with car so prefer to find **** problems now lol
as i said, it shudders, yeah the revs drop but it doesnt stall, how easy is it to clean the IAC valve?
Basically you just pull it out and clean with carby cleaner. I usually give it a spray with WD40 after cleaning.
Just be aware that cleaning the throttle body may negate or cancel your 12 month warranty! Please read the fine print as you may find that any modification or alteration or repair not approved under the terms of the warranty will void any claims....this is despite the good advice given to you on how to fix it by immortality and accentstencil. This may seem stupid but I've been caught before.
I think he is talking about the dealer's warranty not the manufacturers warranty. When you buy a second hand vehicle from a dealer, some of them offer more than the 3 months they have to give you. I bought a 2002 model and got a 3 year warranty but it only covers certain things, engine, transmission, etc...
because it changes the idle to suit conditions. what may happen is that when it shifts through nuetral the idle increases, the PCM thus closed the IAC to reduce the idle, however when going into drive the revs drop, again the iac needs to compensate for this. however, a drity and clogged IAC (and assocaited passages) means when the PCM opens the IAC the required usual steps it's not enough to return the idle to the correct level causing problems. if oyur worried about the warranty, take it back to the place of purchase and ask them to solve the problem (after all, what else is a warranty for) you could possibly suggest a fix (if you don't think they will be offended)
how the warranty works is that i can take it to any mechanic but they have to notify the warranty people before work is done.. is there a how-to anywhere on cleaning the throttle body on here anywhere?
