This is the first time it's happened to me. I'm recently rebuilt my VR V6 engine everything to spec, replaced all sensors except cam angle, TPS and MAP sensor. Today was quite a hot and humid day and i drove to work parked it up and in the afternoon came out to drive it home. Went to start it and it just cranked wouldn't fire. I listened for the fuel pump and that was working. Tried again, just cranked for a couple secs no start. Tried one last time and about after 3secs of cranking if started and seemed fine. Went to the gym and it restarted fine. Any ideas? I didn't replace the DFI pack is it possiable to test if it's on it's way out? Cheers.

check your codes. sounds like an intermittant camor crank angle sensor.
only way I know to test the DFI is to replace it with a known good unit (scab one off a mate for an hour)

Yep..crank angle sensor...try pooring cold water on it and if engine starts that's the problem. Also check your computer codes to confirm.

I too thought crank angle but again the car was sitting all day so would have been cold anyway, cause usually they stuff up when hot.

yeah they do, but like me you'll find they can die just from sitting there. mine fired up perfectly, then 2 hours later wouldn't fire. will throw up a code 46 i think, which isn't specific about what's wrong, just the sensor's stuffed

yeah mine does the same thing, replacing the CAS doesn't tend to do anything...
It's easy to state the obvious first though.
Did you kill the pig SSbeast?
