The odmeter/trip meter in my car are not working, however the speedo is still working.
So i pulled it all apart found the broken gear, bought a new one from ebay and replaced it, but still no luck.
I pulled it all apart again, but cannot visibly see anything possibly wrong with it.
So im thinking maybe its the electric motor, but wouldn't that mean the speedo wouldn't work either?
Can anybody help out? thanks.

just curious, did you change 1 or 2 cogs? sometimes both can loose a tooth or wear out.
when assembly took place, any chance the old tooth might still be in there causing it to jam?
is it the correct cog? think there are 2 sizes

Every now and then cogs won't fix the issue.

I've fallen across this issue as well on my sons VS and ended up changing the speedo assembly itself.

Yeah Mate changed both of the them, I will pull it back apart again and give it another clean to make sure there’s nothing in there.

i have the same problem with my Vs series 3, 5 Litre. the odometer stopped working at 403,000 K
i changed the speedo over and still have the same issue. im thinking it could be a speedo sender issue but not sure.
what are the chances of changing the speedo over and it's odometer not working either.
Does the speedo sender send 2 signals out 1 for the Needle and 1 for the odometer?

anybody got any idea's before i take it to an auto elec?????
Thankyou in advance

John

if the pointer is working and the odometer is not then its getting the signal it will just be an odometer issue, alot of those can have issues so getting another can just have same issue especially if it sat around for a while
