looking at fitting oil cooler to VE SS (L98), trying to find a sandwich plate to suit, dose anyone know the thread size/type needed, there are some around with thermostats to allow oil to warm up before opening, or using an aeroflow adaptor on the side of the engine,

    Hey mate

ive got a oil cooler on mine, cant help with sizes ect but i bought the ASE oil cooler universal kit, very good quality and it came with everything my mechanic needed, (you can check my thread how the cooler looks in my bar if u want too) but u could just email ASE for the part sizes ect, they were good to deal with

good luck mate, hope some of that helps haha

thanks wogboyz, but as you described you chucked half theirs away and had to get more parts, I see they have a VE kit ($$$$$$) so if anybody else can help would be good with these sizes would be good (can get line and fittings at a very good price)

oh yeah sorry man forgot to add that crap :( however we used the cooler, piping (needed more) and the adpator

You could just order them parts separate (cooler, piping and adpators) ect, saves ya buying the whole kit

then all u need is a few brackets not sure which ones as my mechanic just fabbed them up

no problems, yeah I think i will put together a kit, found same adaptor elsewhere for half of what ase want, also found a couple with thermo's in them, just read an article in JC mag, got the right size cooler lined up. still intersted in sizes as the hayden adaptor with thermo looks good, only opens and allows oil to cooler from 160degrees so warm up and maintain at good temp ( will check on diff temp settings though) mocal do one as well, fits up to the same as the ase one
