Hello,
I have a mid 2000 vx, i went and bought from Super Cheap the correct oil filter for a vx, went to put the sucker on and the thread hole was a different size.
By this stage i had opened it and it was all oily, and a bit hard to take back, anyone else had this issue?
My motor is an ectotech.
Is it possible that beacuase mine is so early that perhaps i have a VT motor and that is why it doesnt fit? Or is the reference book at Super Cheap Just wrong?

i assume its a valvoline one?

i dont know their number, but the ryco filter for your motor, is a Z154, this is the same filter from vn v6 through to vy v6 3.8ltr

even if it is a bit oily, take it back, did they help you find it? if so, say its wrong and ask for the right one. oil is easy to wipe off.

Depends whether you bought a V8 or V6 filter, trying to fit a V8 filter on a V6 won't work and vice versa.

Just about every oil filter will have a Z equivalent..

Do the Z154 equivalent, according to the box.. It's simple..

I reckon stick to Ryco Z154, and take it back, supercheap are alright at refunding or swap over.
