hi guys went to holden today to buy an oil filter only to find that they dont sell sump plug washers and only sell the whole sump plug although im positive last time i got a filter i just bought the sump plug washer/o ring seperate to the plug just wondering if anyone else has been told the same
Yep, thats how they do it now, the bolt is a throw away because they don't sell washers seperate ! Now they can sell you a bolt for 8 bucks rather than a washer for 50 cents. Imagine the increase in profit margin $$$$$$$$$$$$$. If you want to you could make a washer yourself ... just check regularly that it doesn't leak or come loose .
Wait till you need fuel filter changed they in the tank so tank has to be dropped. No inline filter anymore so I was told.
Aight thanks guys might just go buy the whole plug Yeah pete alot of cars have intank filters now i am a mechanic and i see alot of cars have them now
This topic has been discussed before. Well for V8's anyway. Not sure what the V6 has. http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...89-asked-sump-plug-washer-got-whole-bolt.html For the price of the black/grey rubber washer it was cheaper to buy the whole sump bolt which came with a washer. The washer is about $8 each. Part No. GM-03536966 from your local holden parts department.
