oil filter washer

    hi guys
    went to holden today to buy an oil filter only to find that they dont sell sump plug washers and only sell the whole sump plug
    although im positive last time i got a filter i just bought the sump plug washer/o ring seperate to the plug
    just wondering if anyone else has been told the same

    The sump plug has a washer ''pressed'' on the end. Think i paid about $4 for one.

    Yep, thats how they do it now, the bolt is a throw away because they don't sell washers seperate ! Now they can sell you a bolt for 8 bucks rather than a washer for 50 cents. Imagine the increase in profit margin $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
    If you want to you could make a washer yourself ... just check regularly that it doesn't leak or come loose .

    Wait till you need fuel filter changed they in the tank so tank has to be dropped.
    No inline filter anymore so I was told.

    Or get an aftermarket magnetic bolt with a brass washer

    Aight thanks guys might just go buy the whole plug
    Yeah pete alot of cars have intank filters now i am a mechanic and i see alot of cars have them now
