I know vl's are prone to blow head gaskets or crack their heads and as a result the oil gets into the water. The head gasket seems to be okay... Can't see any visible cracks... WHAT IS WRONG? (IT'S AN RB30)

Just because you cant see a crack or where a gasket has failed, does not mean that its something else, the crack could be internal on the cylinder head, under a valve seat etc, the gasket could be blown through but undamaged, get the head pressure tested, and if ok get it faced and replace with a new gasket.

Cant really see it being anything else, but if you have allready removed the parts its a good start
