oil leak in intake manifold??????

    i have an oil leak in my VY Supercharged Calais that has been into my holden dealer that was diagnosed as leaking rocker covers, but now they say it is a leaking intake manifold gasket? it is booked in for next wednesday as they had to get parts in and are booked up until then.my question is does oil flow through the intake manifold? i thought it didnt flow through an intake manifold but maybe someone can enlighten me? cheers

    A bit of oil in the manifold is quite normal, more so on LS1's.

    yes but can they leak oil down the side of the block and drip on the ground, i thought the manifold only contained fuel and air?????

    get a screwdriver out and just tighten the rocker covers a bees dic, theres ahhh 5 screws for each cover if i remember correctly, or take them off and make sure the o-rings are still good.

    its a relatively common thing for them to leak, the oil is in the valley & leaks out the rear seal.

    ok thanks for that rob just had me puzzled. didn't think oil ran through them.
