Hey guys

so I noticed a few days ago my oil pressure gauge was reading above the 5 bar line on acceleration and only dropping to 4ish bar on idle. I’ve changed the oil and filter and now it sits around the 3 bar mark at idle and fluctuates to 4.5-5 bar on acceleration.
I’m ashamed to say that before I noticed the pressure reading really high, I’ve never really taken much notice of the pressure gauge until now.

what’s the normal range during operation?
Is there potentially something still not quite right?
Car is a vy clubby

cheers guys

Oil pressures increases with revs so that's a good thing. 58psi idle and 72psi with revs, is this with a hot or cold engine and what grade of oil are you using?

Was sitting at 4 bar when cold idling, after 20 mins or so When it’s warm it sits at around 3.5 bar idling, cruising its around 4.5 bar, so 70ish psi I reckon
Oil is Penrite 10w30 semi synthetic
Engine temp when warmed up is Less than half way on the gauge, so completely normal

Nominal oil pressure readings are taken with the engine up to full operating temp.

14.5 psi = 1 bar
