I got the 'check engine oil' warning light after changing the engine oil this afternoon. My mechanic said the oil pump was fully operational, there was sufficient oil etc. however, when we looked at this oil pressure sensor...unplugged it with the engine off and there was some water droplets coming out of the sensor and the switch. he guessed that the sensor switch short circuited due to this water. When i switch on the car, theres a beep-beep-boop-boop warning sound and the engine oil light comes on again. He said that i needed to dry out this switch harness and the oil pressure sensor, and better leave the car battery disconnected. now the car is in the garage and i'm waiting Worse case scenario, it might lead to other problems (?) , but i'm hopping the switch harness and the oil pressure sensor will dry out. Has anyone had this problem before?
plugged in the already dry harness into the oil pressor sensor. Reconnected the battery. Reprogram the CD player etc. And right after start up, the engine oil light warning came up again. Leaving the oil pressure to dry on its own didnt do anything. Has anyone experienced this?
replace the sensor very common problem, I have been told can cause engine to stall but have never heard of it for fact
