yep as mentioned its 0-500kpa (0-5 bar) idle should be around the 2-3 depending on oil used when warm, cold may be over 3 just cranking the motor may get a low reading under 2 but at 150rpm its not much to flow the oil best to just start it

I'd say if it's usually near 2 bar she is a good 'un & 1 bar hot idle sounds ok depending on mileage.

Maybe thee is a reason most don't have oil pressure gauge so we don't get frightened...most straight 6 & 308 cars had idiot light that came on like 6-8psi haha

Are the figures the same in any car?

How do you mean?
Do you have a factory oil pressure gauge that has line markings but no numbers?

My SV often sits at about 3bar (300kpa approx) once warm.
After a cold crank and moving it out the garage etc itll rise to about 4 then come back down.
If driving when coldish itll be around the 3.5 mark.
But when driving itll be around the 3 to 4.

But its not exactly standard sorry.

Bar are we in the US again?

MY old V6 had over 80psi cold idle and 40-45psi hot idle depending on how hot it was. It's not relevant to you in any way other than the fact we live in a modern metric world!

Australia uses kpa or bar in vehicles made here, thats it why u get oil pressure in kpa and boost is usually in bar, unless u get an import that wasnt changed

2 bar map sensor, but the pulley for a supercharger is normally for a psi value? :p

Relatively speaking. 1 bar = 100kpa = 15psi.
Its not exactly correct but makes comparing the numbers simple.

Honestly its what you get brought up with and comfortable with. Like with tyres pumping up to a psi value rather than kpa which is the SI unit version.

But back to your original Q Fu, anything else you needed to know about said gauge? Or need any other data on the pressures etc?
