Tried a search but got this. Does the sump need to come off if replacing the oil pump?

V6 or V8?

V8 no.

V6 kinda. The front timing cover has to come off which in theory means you need to release the sump or you will struggle with the gasket that sits between the bottom of the timing cover and the sump. It can be done though.

Yeah V6. The mech is going to do the job and probably remove the timing cover as we are chasing a rattle. I'm just trying to figure out what the cost will be.

Yes of course he would. But have you tried talking to a mech for more than 3 minutes lately. No one over here will go through all the answers to the questions you want to know. I need to figure out if i can even pay for this, this week. So i need to work out in my own head roughly how much i am up for. Over here you don't even bother ringing them because they don't call you back. If you drop in to ask questions they get shitty. Only way you get some time is when you have it in getting repaired and they need to call you tell you the bad news. But i guess that's how it is when it takes over a week at least to get your seen too. If you need a trans specialist allow 3 months.
