Oils

Just wondering what brand engine oils and grade are being used in the VZ V6's and comments. Holden recommend 5w to 30w or 10w to 30w. Was wondering if 5w is to thin?

i went to holden and bought 5 litres of oil for my VZ V6 and they sold me 10w/30.. Mobile 1............ figured thats where service where going to happen that this will be the correct oil.

You sort of need to work out where you live and if your prone to overnight frost or very cold temps. Do you park your car outside at home or in garage?
You need a thinner oil if you live in colder climates to help with starting. Otherwise if you live in a warmer area then start with a 10w. I think higher end cars like BMW's etc require a minimum 0w oil......
