Okay I know there are allot of threads on this but nothing has my exact symptoms, I have a 2009 Holden ve ss and it has some sort of knock, not I can’t tell where the knock is coming from sounds like centre engine, there are very fine metal shavings in the oil filter lots of it but only in the filter, oil that came from the sump is clean, would worn lifters cause this metal in the filter ? Because if it was connecting rod bearings there would be allot of metal in the sump oil right ? That’s why I’m confused any help would be good thanks

A few LS do have lifter problems and it normally damages the cam.

Yep. Stuck lifters can machine cam lobes pretty quick.
How would a stuck roller lifter ruin a cam or do you mean seized roller?

Stuck roller lifters hammer the lobe flat like this one.

The spinning roller can't prevent the hammer blows as the lobe hits it.

Shane, being a mechanic you should be well aware of the relatively common problem of LS lifters and cam damage.

Yes I fixed a few but they don't have that issue.
When they get that squeak noise to them it's because the roller is wearing down the lobe all the way around the lobe.
This is a totally different failure mode I have not reapired and is likely a little more rare.
This is the lifter hammering the cam.
Even on the Hemi's the failure mode I'm used to seening where the roller wears the cam down is common not a hammering of a cam lobe.

This level of damage is less common but wiping cam lobes on an LS due to lifter or spring failure is not at all rare, it's a widely known issue, especially the dirty L76. It's called valve bouncing for a reason
