We picked it up today. :D

I love it... The xenon headlights look awesome, and looking at it from the front with the fog lamps on especially it looks really mean n sporty.

I love the leather seats, so comfy, not as soft as I like, but still nice...

Love the new car smell :D haha

Few little things I needa get used to like the lights being on the indicator stalk etc etc, just the small things.

The sunroof is... is just WOW... its pretty much the whole roof, and you can open it as much or as little as you want. With the sunroof closed but the cover pulled back its a great view :D it lets heaps of light in.

I havent driven it yet. We're getting new tyres put on tomorrow morning, so tomorrow afternoon I'll have my first drive. (I didnt tonight coz we're trying to keep the km's under 100 before replacing the tyres)

Haha, when we picked up the car it had 000,010km on it. They drove it into an 'inspection room', where they ran us through pretty much evreything really quickly, they had this spinning thing (like in the showrooms) that was pretty awesome haha.

Anyway, I'll have a drive of it tomorrow n let yas kno what its like :D

The tyres that they come with are made for onroad and offroad, which means that driving them on road all the time wears them out very quickly... they were also a bit noisy...

New tyres went on today ($265 each, $180 back for each tyre we gave them) Theyre very nice and smooth...

I've been driving it all day today :D haha its my old mans car, and so far ive driven it more than he has!!!

Hahaha, he hasnt had a chance to yet, It has 270kms on it, and he's done about 90. It had 10 when we picked it up haha.

Next weekend is easer so I probably wont get to take it, but hopefully the weekend after that I can take if for a bit of a drive...

At the moment its just running in, varying the revs a fair bit and being pushed pretty much constantly (NOT being taken over 4000rpm... the manual says not to for the first 5-10,000kms, but the guys at the STi service center said to drive it pretty hard when running in), so its going through a fair bit of petrol at the moment.

Steering is very responsive, the momo steering wheel has a really great feel to it. When going around a corner the steering gets a bit tighter (like in the SS) so you really feel that the AWD has you stuck to the road :p

Its no v8, thats for damn sure! but it does get up to speed very quickly without you noticing... As soon as you touch the accelerator it takes off... and when in reverse... You have to be VERY gentle with the accelerator haha. It's only got a couple hundred k's on it so its not ready to be pushed to its limits yet, but you can tell that it has that power there to shoot you off

The whole set up of the interior is so much different to holdens. I went to put my window down and was searching for the button in the center, but subaru's have them on the drivers door instead :p I like them better in the center...

Heaps of storage and hidden compartments... Xenon headlights are pretty cool, they look really nice on the darker streets. The side mirrors are MASSIVE, you can see everything through them.

In short.. its definatly not the SS... but I do like it, maybe thats also because its brand new, so there may be some degree of novelty :p but it is a nice car, and a pleasure to drive... I cant wait till I can drive it properly (without having to worry about varying the revs and what not)

i knew you would love it.

i agree with the mirrors, you have an awesome view. even out the front window you have a large and uninterupted field of vision.

your dad got exactly the same colour as my parents :p

The urban grey (this one) and that berry red (not sure what the name is) are the best colours on the foresters... And What you said about the windscreen is true as well, I commented on that to my dad while I was driving actually.

Ooo and we're also gonna be getting it serviced by the STi guy's rather than the 'normal' subaru people. We were told theyre much better with the turbos as thats all they do, and also as far as price goes theres not too much of a difference.

I just cant wait till its run in... I wanna take this thing on a nice long drive!

one thing i found, the front seats are crap. maybe im used to nice big seats with heaps of padding on the sides.. but ive noticed they dont 'hug' your arse very well.

Yeahh.. theyre definately not as nice and supportive as seats in a commodore. Theyre still ok though. My old man has a bit of a bad back and he finds it comfortable so thats alright

The seats in the liberty were really comfortable and hugging though...

Worst thing is I sat in the ve calais as well... now those a comfy seats!

The back seat is also kinda tight. There isnt all that much leg room... Enough to be comfortable, but i wouldnt wanna be in the back seat on a 700k drive haha. And theres really only space for 2 people in the back, you can fit three... but its really cramped. But hey, as long as im up the front who cares haha.

Another thing... so far, fuel consumption is about 12lt/100ks and thats being driven spiritedly. That could easily come down to about 10 I reckon... But while its being run in, we're not too concerned about fuel consumption

I got the forester for the day today...

The thing I noticed... Is the fuel tank is way too small... Maybe its just coz I'm used to the commodores bigger tanks.. I dunno... But it seems to get to empty pretty quickly.

I'm suprised they didnt put a bigger fuel tank in.. especially for something that can be taken off-road. Ah well, I managed to limp it home before the low fuel light came on haha

Can you find out how many litres the tank holds??? Should be mentioned in the owner's manual.

sorry to go a bit OT but Liverpool Exhausts are awesome guys... did my car, and I absolutely love it. IMO and some of my Ford mates reckon I have the best sounding V8!

Oh and cool Forester... some of them sound like a wrx sti, very mean!

    Attaboy, its a 60lt tank

Misaprop, This one has the exact same engine as the WRX Impreza... One of my friends has an older forester and has a bigger turbo, so pretty much like an STi, if not even a little more power. You can really get these things sounding mean without doing much to them...

At the moment its still sounding like any other 4cylinder.. but getting closer to 5000ks... its on 1,200 after having it for a week and 2 days :p
