G'day all,

My ever reliable but breathless 3.0L 2010 Omega 6-speed wagon with 225km on the clock has developed a rather odd problem shifting gears all of a sudden. While it does have the usual VE problems such as the occasional P0300 misfire and the lean codes of P0171 and P0174, this latest P0700 has me concerned.

My usual mechanic said I need to take it to a specialist automatic repairer as he'd only make a meal of it, he said. The trans is not low on fluid and I've maintained the car to a pretty good standard. I take it to the mechanic no more than 10 000km since the last one.

Now, when we go to change gears, there is a large amount of hesitation until it finally (and usually) finds the right gear. You know, it goes roooooom rooom roooooooom rooom then finds the gear and off we go. Sometimes it can't find the gear and we get stuck in third or forth until the car comes to a complete stop. It then rights itself and off we go again good as gold. It seems to do it mostly when cold. I haven't taken it to the new mechanic yet, I was just hoping that someone may have had a similar experience to me and might know what's happening.

Just as a sidebar, was it normal for Holden to put the dual exhaust system on the 2010 Omega wagon? I swear to God the exhaust system on my car is not meant for it. It scrapes on speedbumps and washed out road. It's also loud as buggery and not in a good way. Sounds like it's got a great big hole in it but alas. I will hopefully get it looked at in due course. Thanks for reading, hope any of you fellas have a clue what could be going on with this bloody thing. I feel like it might be time for it to turn up on the other side of town upside down and burned out after some of the local youths take it for a joyride. Not much joy to be had driving it around at the moment, that is!
