Hey guys, i just picked a grampa spec VL and it has the remnants of a UHF/CB radio install left in it. I found the coax and plug behind the sunglasses holder and there is a through glass antenna on the back window.

I do a few UHF installs for work but i've never dealt with through glass antennas. I suspect it was probably a phone antenna, but what i'm curious about is do they make uhf ones? or can i get a whip that's tuned for uhf (like a little 3dB one) ?

You're probably wondering why i want to put a uhf in. The window tint has been cut around the antenna mount. I have a spare slim size GME radio that didnt fit in my 4wd and i've got plenty of coax and fittings. So i thought it might be fun to install it.

Thanks heaps, Jason.
