so picked up a set off VY SS rims for less than the tyres were worth =D. Only issue is that they have a fair bit of gutter rash.

I was thinking of priming/puttying/spray puttying them up and respraying them either black or silver. Can't decide. Could I pull off black? I'm thinking it will either look great.....or horrible lol.

Also what would you guys recommend, enamel or acrylic for these? I've got a whole heap of acrylic clear, primer and thinners sitting here that could go towards it but I was under the impression enamel would hold up better. (will be shooting it all out of a gun :) )

Go black but leave them satin/flat. Black rims don't look any good shiny IMO.

I think it was just some old PPG Cobra i had sitting around. Any COB base coat will do the job, could even just go to any paint job and ask for black base coat in a spray can.

only pic ive got at the moment. Not much to shop but I can take another if need be.

Alright so as long as I clear the crap out of it it'd hold up is what your saying. :)
How about this for an idea....silver basecoat with some black in the clear?

edit: read that wrong, any basecoat'll do

thanks mate, think I'll decide against black after seeing that. Probably go gunmetal.

Cheers
