VE SS manual
diff is starting to make some funny noises now and i was thinking of upgrading to a tru trac with some diff gears.

car is a 07 manual ss with otr and mafless tune. 247rwkw. i just get train to work so its only a sort 10min drive to the station everyday, does see freeway driving most weekends going up the coast.

just want opinions on drone due to increased rpm at 110kph , noises, fuel ecconomey, i was leaning more toward the 3.9 set myself but would like opinions.

keep it genuine ( diff gears ) 3.7 I wouldn't trust any other ratios they would be aftermarket and need to b lapped in otherwise they whine at high speeds

Go 4.11:1 as its not much different to 3:9.1. If meshed/seated properly, they wont whine.
Will sit on around 2000 rpm at 110 and make 6th gear more usable.
You can do 80 in 6th no problems and it will give you great performance.
Dont waste your money on a trutrac, your making a little more power then a gts, the diffs hold up just fine.

I'd go with 3.9's (That is what I have in my VY - no they don't whine at high speed) and they have been one of the better mods I have done to the car.

I'd go 4.11s because I kinda regret getting 3.9s. But they are fantastic for fwy driving! 1500rpm at 100km (vz m6) Aftermarket gears are fine if they are set up correctly.

i do 60 in 6th gear now easy but usauly prefers 70, . am i driving it wrong??

the reason behind the tru trac is become ive ####ed up this diff now and i dont want it occuring again and there may posible be plans for a cam later on.

seems the VZ have a taller 6th gear? doing 1500rpm at 100 with 4.11?

I didn't want to comment on the centre because I don't actually know what sort of diffs ve's have. But if they're anything like the m80 centres then they suck. If it's already singling and you're rebuilding your diff you may aswell get a truetrac and solve the issue forever.
