2006 vz v6 commodore
Hey guys I’m just wondering what my 2006 vz v6 station wagon would be worth today? I’m after a rough price for as is and price with r/w. It’s the vehicle in my profile picture which has 19” rims. The gearbox was replaced with a reco box which recently ran out of warranty. It’s barely been driven in months as I had no license and then had the engine replaced due to problems. The engine has only got 130,000kms on it and will have paperwork to confirm this. I’m really just wondering what it’s worth as I’ve had to spend more money on it than I would’ve liked. Basically I bought a lemon and I’ve now fixed everything that was wrong with it. I’m wondering how much money I have actually lost if anything? TIA to all who takes the time to comment I appreciate your thoughts.

A deciding factor is obviously how many km has the car done????

Unfortunately like all price related queries with value of a car, what someone is willing to pay.

Do a little research of cars in your state with what they are asking and price accordingly....

Don't expect to get what other people are asking for theirs that are for sale...

About 270,000km on the odometer

About 18 months ago, I bought a VY wagon with 275,000 on the clock...It had a months rego, a leaking lim gasket and 4 tyres that were just legal on factory 16" rims...The interior needed a good clean and the body needed a good wash....

I paid a whopping $600 for it....Is that a reasonable guide for you?

Not really, I probably won’t be able to get a fair price and I’m sure my car is in a lot better condition than what you described. Thanks anyway.

So needing a clean inside and out makes my particular car condition worse than yours? Oh and maybe the tyres needing replacing...That cost me bugger all, as I get them trade price...However should someone pay full tote odds, they'd be adding another $400 ish onto the price

The gasket being gone is less expensive than you're motor and gearbox change as it only set me back a whopping $150, as I did the work myself...

So putting all of that onto yours, we could in effect ask $1,000

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
It is a base model.
It has 4spd, not 5.
It has base model steering wheel.
Base model seats.
Base model cluster.
LE0 motor, not LY7.
Base model headlights
No fog lights.
No sunroof.

wagon is going to be worth more than sedan.
Red book is no longer a good guide for values with cars appreciating instead of depreciating. It's just not what you might think.

Whats it like under the bonnet? Is it clean or dusty and crudded up?
Is there oil caked up underneath?
$4-5k at best.
I think you'll be taking offers of $3500

Actually, looking at the doors. Damaged. Mismatching silver. You'll be asking $1000-2500.

I have no idea of the value of that car, but pictures of covered seats raise alarm bells, especially if it’s the driver’s seat.
