why bother sending a commodore over there when you can pick up an old mustang for like $1000 over there. seriously. theyre everywhere, like commodores
HAHAHAHAH!!!!! I am pissing myself  Yeah that's what I would have to look into if I did...Just getting ideas first I have nothing to add @Static89 - Umm...That may cost more @Stocky - Because it would be different
Send it over, be unquie. Who knows some american might offer you more money than its worth... either that your u'll get car jacked.
Just sell it. Shipping/storing it just isn't worth the cost. I know that car is probably quite sentimental to you, but you really need to put that aside for a decision like this. Living in a new country you should get all the cash together you can.
so youre going to pay thousands to ship a cheap car over, then thousands more converting to LHD, just to be different?
cant you sell it to a mate on a proviso that you will buy it back if its still in good nick? if you come back as long as he notifys you if he wasnt to sell it?
as a owner of a VP no point bringing a VP over there.. and it will be diffi**** to drive just forget about it but if it means alot to you take it over storage rooms might be expensiv
I'd sell it, buy something over there and look at bringing that back when you return. It'd cost more than the car is worth to ship it over there.
just sell it some hektic 17yr old would love a car that lights up, well until he gets his p's and find out everyone is laughin at him
dude it cost's like 1500$ to ship a car over from america so it shouldnt be too diffrent to have one sent over there.....
more than that. then add on conversion costs, then roadworthies, repairs, registration, insurance. whos going to insure the only vp in america?
Take off what you want and sell it,if you do come back after a while in the US one look at the VP and you will do a dump on it.Once you get used to all the great and large variety of cars there you wont want it. Remember too that depending how long you go you might be off your Ps and will want a nice V8.
maybe in 1983. you should actually find out what things really do cost before you think of a number. FWIW, its more like $4500+ (and that was when the AU dollar was worth US$0.96c) to bring a car over from America and you still need to jump through 32 hoops before your allowed to even put it in a container. BTW, in Australia, if the car your importing is left hand drive and isnt 30 years old - you wont even get it in the country unless you can document how and where your planning to get it converted to right hand drive (exemptions naturally for areas like car manufacturing testing etc). its never just as simple as filling a container and putting it on a boat.
Ok well thanks for the info guys. And no Dents, there will be no more light show, so you can now stop complaining. Maybe you can take my name off the FaceBook group as well
