They do actually just like ur normal house hold globe they give off an orange glow they r never white. Thats y even with the green filters the green inside r a dull green.

Not really that odd when you think about it.

They take the cheapest way of doing it...

Normal orange or yellow globes are the cheapest to manufacture and then the little filters are mass produced also from a low grade plastic.

If would cost them more to say manufacture the dash's with colored LED's.

Same as with headlight globes... the normal 55w odd yellow globes are cheap.

When you start looking at white light globes... you're paying twice and even three times are much.

And yes... paypal will be fine... :p

It wouldnt really cost more 2 produce with LEDs i rekon it would b much the same mayb cheaper. Take the cluster 4 eg. if u think about it LEDs cost around 60c-$1.20 each but u would need more of them 2 get the same result. If 1 globe = $8 theres then roughly 8 LEDs u can use to 1 globe thats used (5 in total in the cluster). I think its more that they didnt have the technology like wat they do now in current models.
