I cannot see any significant loss from that. Never heard of any circumstance where this has been mentioned either, OTR will draw plenty enough through the grille area too.

Yup, i have the ORSOM OTR CAI as well, & agreed they're not like the Ramjet (or any other) design.

All the air actually comes in through the bonnet opening/gap & not through the radiator as to the yellow arrows

From my research, it seems that the advice from manufacturers is to cut off the rubber in front to get more fresh air to the upper inlets.
The size of the lower and upper seems to vary a bit too between the makes. Orrsom looks to have bigger upper inlets?

I saw this on a VE HSV at Geelong. Look cool, but must be so bad for high intake temps.

I have the orssom one and the openings for that kind of face upwards from what I can see it would really only draw air from above the grille and I think that is why they recommend to cut the rubber bonnet seal in front of it.

Ahh, fair enough.
I am not really a fan of that though but I am sure it works fine.

I didnt like that idea initially either bit as the orssom product is popular and well received I think I can live with it. With yours did that have to lean the radiator back? I think that is one of the downsides to the VCM one.

They do lean back, but I can’t really see any issue with it.
It’s good there are options and you actually get to choose what suits.

Nothing wrong with removing that bonnet strip altogether, have a vcm otr on mine and bonnet strip is completely removed and there’s no negative side effects that I know of

No extra crap gets in under the bonnet or water when it rains and your driving?

Not that I’ve noticed, definitely no water coming in perhaps more dust would get past than with the strip on but nothing worth worrying about
