When there's all this talk about 2 hole mods and CAI's for our v6's, has anyone ever tried to fit one of the v8 OTR filters to a v6 and pipe it straight to the MAF sensor? I'm thinking i might give it a go. I know it makes the car instantly defectable, but the v8 lads don't seem to have much of a problem, Plus i haven't given much thought of what you'd do with the little sensors in the air box - probably drill a hole in the side of the OTR?
From memory, I think there was no noticeable power difference between stock and fitting an OTR to a 6. hence why no companies I think make them much for the 6. They work well on an 8, but I think the 2hole mod costs $500 cheaper, for more gain.
i think MAYBE if you got a custom one built with a 120mm pipe running through the MAF then splitting into a twin throttle body setup might work i think, but even then you'd still have the problem of the 60mm restriction of the MAF. Either way you're right - it's going to cost billions...
