OTR with MAF/MAFless tune

G'Day Guys,

Just a quick question. Roughly what performance gains can I expect after fitting the ORSSOM CAI with either a MAF or MAFless tune and a 2.5" X-force exhaust onto a VE SS.

Depends on if it's an auto or a manual as there's less drivetrain power loss in the manual. Firstly go to some place with a dyno and run it up to get the baseline power figure, then go get the work done and run it up on the same dyno to see the difference. You might see anywhere from a 25 to 30 rwkw increase but it's all dependent on the dyno operator and how it sets up his dyno. Which state are you in?

Mafless tunes are better as they get rid of the MAF which can be a restriction in the intake on the LS1.

Dyno figures are pure wank in my opinion. The best increase from a tune is felt on the street. Better economy, better acceleration, better transmission shifts.

If you're in Sydney, go see Sonny at Marranos. he's a bloody legend.

agreed. dyno figures are just a number. the numbers you're after are low 13s down the 1/4 at WSID. as for maf vs mafless, I'm sure Sonny will do a sweet mafless tune for you.

there not much difference power wise between maf/mafless on the VE as they have a bigger maf then the LS1
but yo should see 30rwkw gain from those mods
+1 for Sonny

ive currently got this dilemma going through my head....maf or mafless ???

my situation is :

$600 for a good quality OTR with the MAF
$1200 for a good quality OTR and a MAFLESS tune

if the difference in kw is no more than 5kw (from what i have been told) then i cant really see the benefits of going MAFLESS. After all my baby is a street driven daily drive.

you ether want to go

Maf OTR without a tune?

or Mafless tune with OTR?
