Hi all,

I am currently in negotiations with a seller for the following -
- VF Calais V wagon Aug 2015 - 45,000kms
- Has had alot of mods and has been skinned back after EPA issues and is now all ok.
- Currently has a Magnuson 2300 Heartbeat
- OTR
- GTS headers and exhaust and Cam
- Heads (Higgins)
- Custom Tune
- All other supporting mods

The car got defected (Sydney) so he removed the 1 7/8 headers and full 3' X force and the large Cam and placed the LSA "spec" headers/Ex/Cam in it. (All comes with the car as spares plus a set of 22" rims to sell on).

Was doing 451rwkw and is now 407rwkw and 1010Nm.
Drove really nicely and is full sleeper as not lumpy or to noisy.
Car itself is absolutely immaculate.

Is is chasing 48k -

Advice and thoughts?

My mate actually has serviced it from new and got me on to it.

I will be doing suspension etc in time.

Considering there are a couple of unmolested ones with similar kilometres on CarSales with $35k asks, it sounds pretty expensive to me. Mods depreciate way harder than cars do, and that car sounds like it's approximately the new retail cost of those mods over the price of a stock one.

Hi Forg,
Appreciate your reply.
Thinkin FB with my head now (not by right foot) and this is what I could see but didn’t want too see it. F me, as I’ve come from heavily modded XR6T and euro modded cars , the SC LS3 was damn exciting!
I am thinking to decline and keep searching but maybe into an SSV wagon.

All those mods will cost more than the $13k difference. I'd love a done one. All mods may reduce reliability especially boost. $48k for that is good value. It is true mods make it hard to resell but at that price I don't think itll be an issue.

Would... Not... Touch. No matter what your mate says. A car modded to the degree it was before being defected would not have been driven lightly. Way too expensive for a car that might have had a hard life.

Not worth the asking price with so many and numerous mods. Probably $24k tops, plus cost of passing RWC if/when required.
