VZ Exec Wagon
I have just bought a VZ wagon which I have been really happy with until i was driving home and it started to overheat.

I added some coolant and checked all other oils that were all full.
Its not due for a service for another 5000kms.
It cooled off so I drove it again. It happened again but this time the "check power tran" warning came on.

I can't see any leaks in the hoses.

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing it?

hard to say, could be a dodgy temp sensor, or the thermostat has jammed closed (which seems to happen on these motors)

get the fault code checked out first, see what it is, then proceed with testing cooling system components
