Guys, vt is over heating after about 10 minutes on driving like to the red with alarms going off in pipe to the block was real hot hot while the out pipe was pretty cold changed the thermostat last nite and just topped it up with water, took it for a run this morning and the temp isn't going past the half way mark but it does still moves a bit from where it has always sat between a quarter and half way, any other ideas on what it could be, not sure if coolant has really ever been changed if I go get more and give it a flush you think it would fix it?

Ok well now I'm trying to flush it out and the water is flowing freely through the radiator but isn't going through the block, I should be shouldn't it? Why would this be if so

Because the thermostat is closed preventing circulation so you can either remove the thermostat or disconnect the heater hoses at the engine and stick a hose where you disconnected the hoses and flush that way.

Give the radiator core a good thorough clean while you are there.
