So after a huge fight getting my coolant reservoir out and found no leaks. I still can't figure out why my temp goes up. I blast the heater and it goes down a little and when I stop. Could it be the thermostat? Or a relay of some sort? Are they expensive fixes?

Any help it appreciated.

If it needs a new thermostat it's a few hours labour due to some GM insanity it is positoned on the back of the engine and hard to access.
I'd be checking things like waterflow through radiator before you go and get a new thermostat. Sounds like you had a build up of pressure for some reason which blew the hose off.
Maybe the cap is blocked and doesn't regulate the pressure?

The factory clamps lose tension over time as has happend to you and the hose just simply blows off. Worm drive hose clamps are the way to go.

Check with a Radiator Specialist regarding a full system pressure test. The only way to accurately assess the condition of your cooling system and ancillaries.
