ok guys and girls
Whenever you go to get anything done at a tire shop please check your wheel nuts cause it maybe overtightened (well most of the time they are overtightened). So it's a good practice to check your wheel nuts every time you go to the tire shop it will save you time and money.
A few weeks ago i went and got a wheel alignment and yesterday 4 of 5 of my wheel studs broke on the front right wheel.
All 5 of the wheel studs are brand new, I know cause I got them from repco myself 5/6 months ago. :ranting:

More of a prick when the rock apes tighten them so much that u need a 1m long pipe over wheel brace to loosen them!!!! Kinda hard when u have a flat in the middle of know place!

They often over-inflate them as well.

it's not actually overtightening that causes it

it's when the thread has dirt/rust on it or when the tyre fitter cross threads the nuts

i use grease on wheel studs to prevent cross threading

overthightend nuts can also strech studs

just re read your post it sounds like the studs may have been streched

but any grease will do and just wind the nuts on by hand for first few threads that will stop cross threading

I have a rattle gun which I use on mine and my mates cars and never have any of them complained about something a long these lines.
Although my dad had the tyres changed on the wagon not to long ago and yesterday I went to change the brakes and (being at my dads house not having the rattle gun) had to use a 1m pole to get one of the front nuts off! quite annoying !
