Shaggerz, the only way you will end up with a hydraulic lock is by using inferior products!! The yanks have been using W2A on L67's for years and have NEVER had a case of a hydraulic lock situation. The A2A set up is not the gods gift to L67's as some people hype them up to be, the only reason most people have have the A2A set up is because it was the only cooler in Aus available for the L67 for some time, now that W2A has come on the scene there are a few people changing over as sixshooter mentioned!

water to air also has the "what if the pump fails" scenario but I was less concerned about that as the knock sensors should back the timing right off and spare me from some catastrophic failure.

Can you link me to some water to air packages available within aus?

If Yella Terra had there website up and running i could link you but unfortunately its not so just give them a call on 03 9555 5522 and they will be more than happy to help out! Trust me, go with the YT W2A and you will never look back.

EDIT: Anti FIT promotions!

I have been waiting for their site to be finished FOREVER

I quite like yella terra... the one thing I bought from them so far (10psi stealth pulley) was top notch with laminated instructions and everything. not to mention I placed my order by phone and it took them LESS than 24 hours to get it into my hot little hands!

Would wear a Yella Terra window decal with pride :D

I'll ask them about the w2a ic when I call to order my new rockers hehehe

I can name at least 3... A2A Intercooled setups that have either blown up their engines or sufferd engine damage.

Muvro Vt - the first pioneer of A2A... blown piston.
Bec's Vt - spun cam bearings - high idle on start ups suspected to have worn off bearing material causing it to grip and spin.
STI-VS6 - blown #1 Piston... bad tune ???

Also heard on the grapevine that ICULKN has blown his engine now aswell...

Muvro's VT is in my area and have worked on it before it went crazy. The car had everything done to it to make it drive normal and after all the time spent i still think it was never sorted. The thing i have always thought was a problem is the air volume on the intake.when off throttle the whole inter cooler and piping is under vacuum then when you put the foot down there is a massive amount of room to be filled you air. also with that large area under vacuum it slows the air speed down to the engine making it want to stall.

But i cant wait to see what he has for the next setup.

i beleive both YT and FIT do a W2A intercooler for the l67. the sanwich type coooler that fits between the m90 and the manifold would definitly not have the lag senario (spelling?) thats accociated with A2A setups. there was a recent article in Street Machine mag about hyping up the ecotec V6 including the L67 and there was a litle bit about the new W2A intercoolers also

FIT only do the A2A set up..............

yeah, sorry, your right FIT doesn't do the W2A cooler. FIT do a Ported blower housing though to help things along. maybe check with PWR cause i have seen a W2A setup there but i think that was for a 6/71 setup for the V8's
