Didnt think the intake temperatures would have to much to do with the coolant temperatures. If it does man they must heat the heads up haha.

I was just wondering about the heat soak and boost loss once hot as ive found the super 6 always lost power in the heat.

Got one on the mrs car that ill be drilling for water injection at a later date.

The charger soaks the heat up and keeps it there like a hot water bottle.
No real power loss though can definitely notice it. Was pretty bad before the insulator

Time has come for the old girls face lift.
Some new panels, repairs
Replacing anything that's not worth restoring so the list of bits is quite long.

And so the tear down begins.
This one was planned for completion over two weeks but will be taking my time to get this right.
Cant release any colour details but I can say its going to be unique.
It is going to be an open door job.
Thanks to 4Blok for supplying the DNA paints for this build.

Wheels changed back to basic, and inner guards removed

Guards, bumpers, skirts, bonnet and a few other bits removed ready for pressure wash.

Everything pressure washed down ready for the doors to come off.
I'm a bit ahead of schedule at this stage so will drag things out a bit.
The drivers side doors are also being replaced with two straight shells I kept from the wagon build.

So here's a list of whats being replaced with this build.

New aftermarket mirrors
New genuine center pillar plastics
New genuine bonnet chrome
New aftermarket fog light lens's
New aftermarket chrome outer handles
New genuine rear door protector stickers
New genuine door strikers
New aftermarket chrome guard bolts
New genuine guard antenna bezel
New genuine drivers door chrome window moulding
New genuine grille & badge
New aftermarket SS guards
New genuine SS flutes (hsv twin fin eventually)
New genuine lion boot badge
New genuine Calais boot badge
New genuine Calais door badges
New aftermarket bonnet scoop
New aftermarket radiator
New aftermarket red silicon hoses
New aftermarket HID globes/ballasts
New aftermarket chrome grille inserts
New aftermarket large transmission oil cooler

I've tried to keep as close to genuine as possible but unfortunatly there are some things you just cant get new-genuine.
The reason for the transmission oil cooler is because the car was fitted with a stage 2 shift kitted transmission a couple of days before this work began.

The spray booth is coming along nicely. Completely sealed from roof to floor with three fans running only positive pressure eliminating any potential dust issues. Not an easy job and has taken three days to erect lol

I just love the attention to detail! Spray booth looks awesome. Wagon came out very nice with its job I am sure this one will be even better.

Going to be a new bloody car when you're done.
