    Hey Guys,
In the next 6 weeks i plan on making my car exterior look an sound better with all the usual's; rims, lowering, exhaust and body kit.
My question is, if I'm on safe drivers agreement (SA) and they say you can't do any mods to increase power would I still be able to put a lukey/redback 2.5' catback exhaust on my car or not? Im in no way looking to increase power in the car just after a nice sound.
IWhich one will make a nice sound but not be too loud and droning as i don't want to attract to much attention from the boys in blue.
    Any help would be great,
    Cheers

WTF is a Safe Drivers Agreement?

in SA if you lose your license on your P's you can go on a safe drivers agreement to keep your license. Its basically just an extra 3 years on the Ps!

An exhaust will increase power and be noticeable. So I would say no don't do it.

Im gonna sound like a old fart here, but you are on the threshold of losing your license, why risk it with mods?

You own a V6. Your exhaust will never have a "nice sound" it also increases power, and is a modification.

Three good reasons not to do it.

Ah okay, is there anything you could recommend that will make it sound better without gaining power?
Putting a tip on it won't change the sound at all I'm guessing?
    Cheers

You need to have a stock exhaust to satisfy your safe driver's agreement. Be a good boy and 3 years will fly by then you can mod away.

    You guessed right

Not compared to a v8 sabbath, but I've heard v6's with exhausts and some don't sound too bad imo.

Thanks for clarifying Clairbear, only have two more years to go. would have been on a full license already if I hadn't been stupid - dissapointing!

Having 19's, king lows and an ss body kit wouldn't be breaking any laws will it?
I've had a look but couldn't find anything about it?

As far as i know, its performance mods. Eg exhaust, headers, engine etc etc

As long as it sits above 100mm i think it is at its lowest laiden height, should be fine but please check extensivley, even calling them up might get you the answers you need.

No but will probably bring unnecessary attention to your car.

On your kind of lisence the only mods I would be doings is interior mods and that to very minor mods. (I.e color coding dash, phreddies conversion, SS pedals and so on.

Exterior mods are the biggest cop bait mate. Your more likely to get pulled over due to exterior cosmetic mods rather than performance. That said, you are still likely to get done for performance mods aswell.

I would just buy a mint P plate LEGAL car and roam with that until the agreement or whatever is over

I realise it will draw some attention, but like uniacidz said im going to be 100% sure what im doing is legal before doing it so I dont get pinned. Im only going lows, not gonna drop it on its ass! I've only been pulled over once in the VT and that was because my p-plate had fallen down, so i don't get much attention from them thanfully!

not a bad idea drewwy :p

Interior has already been done - only thing left would be leather seats but vcan't justify spending the amount of money when i don't mind my seats.

Whats peoples thoughts on putting a tip on solely to make it look better than the stock one, yes or no?
