just wondering how long the P plater restriction laws have been going in all states other then wa weve only just bought in the red plate green plate system myself as a learner am able to drive upto 110 on roads with such markings whilst i believe p platers over east are only allowed to get up to 100 also there is no such thing as engine restrictions in W.A yet stupid labour/liberal which ever it is (someone tell me so i can vote against it) are trying to bring in restrictions no chargers or turbos and no v8s also another great rule here is no yearly pit checks hope that doesnt go
we have had the new laws in victoria since the start of july. Personally i wish that we didnt have the engine restrictions etc. But they are here for a reason and i respect that.
N.S.W brought them in first if i remember right, N.S.W is always first to screw people over with rediculous laws
I agree with some of the laws to an extent, but one i find silly is that a P-Plater in a VY with the alloytec that puts out 190 something kws is legal, but a P-Plater in an older V8 that puts out under 160kw is somehow a danger?
Come on the N.S.W government always goes for the stupid easy fix that doeasnt work. Laser pointers, rather then find the bad people they make it so you have to have a license to own one. (the same type of license required to own a firearm) N.S.W officially wrapped in bubble wrap to protect us from ourselves.
man where gettin those engine restrictions which is gonna be turbos and v8s in Wa man and i hate being on red p plates cause i ave to go 2 work at 10past 5 in the morning (but lucky no cops ) i hate these silly red and green plates and this stupid law
Chadly, if you have a legit reason to be driving between 12 and 5 (i.e. going to work or uni) then you are exempt from the restriction. As for which party is trying to bring in new laws, its Labor.
I'm in NSW and only a learner but I see heaps of P platers with custom exhausts. I thought that any form of modification was illegal. I wasn't going to listen to the law anyway but if you got pulled up, what would be the consequence?
it was like that when i bought it I have yet to be pulled over in the 6 months ive had my P's In theory, replacing the oil filter could be considered a performance enhancing modification. If its small i dont think they will be fussed, but if you got a full polished engines with sparkly new red cables and making it look like a fully tuned 50000 buck engine its a different story. Also could say its your parents car and they did the modifications.. Most young drivers have cars under parents name.
i dont like them myself, but im just about to be off my Ps (6 days and counting ) but from jumping out of the v6 and into the v8, even just a 225kw vx, i can completely see why they are there, i definatly wouldnt want my 18yo son to jump behind the wheel of it with minimal driving experiance
