so vy 3.8.
Sometimes car would idle rough but when cruising was okay. one morning car stalled and wouldn't restart. Car would then run for 2 minutes and stall, now car wont start at all. Hooked up pc and am getting the p1372 no reference pulses while cranking. Replaced the crank angle sensor and dfi module but am still getting the p1372 and no start. Could the new cas be faulty?? Sensor is getting power but am not receiving no signal while cranking or slowly rotating engine by hand.

Anyone have any ideas before i go ahead and try another crank angle sensor.??

thanks guys.

I would suggest that you download the Holden VT/VZ Service Manual using the link below.

https://mega.nz/file/Oex2gYyI#5m8benPFSI_DQLGKyDvaA_tXZS0HMWUjzef_q0lv27g

Unpack the downloaded file into a new directory. Open the file named "Main Menu.pdf" with Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader, Foxit PDF Reader (my favourite) or whatever else works for you. Follow the menu sequence shown below. The P1372 section gives you information on how to diagnose this DTC and also has links to the diagnosis of the other components such as the DIS module, coil packs etc.

When the balancer went back after replacing the CAS, did it absolutely go back on in the correct position?

Is the reluctor in the back of the balancer like it was on earlier V6 models? The balancer can be put back on in the incorrect position and the CAS won’t pick up the crank position and not start.

the cas locates on a pin and the puller is on a key way so should be okay. Im thinking its a faulty cas
