it will NEVER look the same as its plastic and metal. even from new they look different. if you spend some time on them they should come up fine. I got a quote for bout $450 for the stips down the doors painted silver, mirrors silver and the black on the underneath on the front and rear and side. hardly worth doing it yourself

I done a mates plastic strips a while ago and they came up pretty good .Just make sure you use plastic primer first ,followed by grey primer then top coat give it a light sand ,(unless its metalicthen go straight to clear coat ) followed by a few coats of clear .

The entire front and rear bumpers are exactly the same plastic as the side skirts and lower lips. As long as you use a reputable painter and a proper colour match it should look fine.

If you've got heaps of scratches and imperfections in the paint you might as well get a quote for a front to rear re-spray. You could also ask around the local TAFE's as I know they sometimes have student mechanic/painter/panel beaters doing these sorts of things for cheaper.
